MIXING

Where all the ingredients are blended together.
Mixing is the process by which a project’s source material’s level, frequency content, dynamics, and panoramic position are manipulated and combined into a stereo track, with the addition of any effects. It is arguably the most important step in the recording process and where the project begins to take on its final sonic form, as the many elements from recording, refined by editing, are processed and combined together to create the final “mix.”

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Each song is unique, and therefore, each mix is different. When I work on mixing your tracks, I adopt a fresh approach, ensuring that every musical element receives the attention it deserves.

WHAT YOUR MIX WILL GET

  • An intentional listening session to take note of the strengths and weaknesses of the song
  • Proper gain staging for maximum headroom and clarity
  • Strategic EQ to help every track sit nicely in the mix
  • Tasteful compression to create energy and balance
  • Creative touches of reverb, delay, and other effects to enhance musicality

FAQ

WHAT DO I NEED TO SEND?
Please send individual .WAV files with each track starting at 00:00:00. Ensure that all tracks are properly named, specifying the instrument recorded on each track (avoid using generic names like Audio 01, Audio 02, Audio 03, etc.).
Note that editing is not included in mixing! Before you send me any tracks, make sure that the editing process has already been done, unless you want me to edit the tracks too.

WHAT FILES WILL I BE GETTING?
I will email you a stereo .WAV file with the original bit depth and sample rate of the recorded session, as well as a high-quality MP3 file.
